At present we have mostly .com, .net, .org and .info as most common Domain suffix but according to the news now there will be suffixes named after brands, political causes, hobbies, company or any other things. The new addresses will be costing $185K to apply and $25K a year to maintain one address. According to ICANN, it costs tens of millions of dollars to write the guidelines for suffixes, review applications and resolve any disputes. You all must be knowing that domain names are used to locate a website from thousands of websites other wise you will have to remember IP addresses of all the websites which is very tough work. This will be one of the biggest change and surely will be helpful to the big companies who will paying such a huge amount for that address.
